Leaving Palau for Arzachena, after about 1 km you’ll see the turn-off for
Porto Rafael and
Punta Sardegna. On the right the beach of Mezzo Schifo or Rada di Agincourt can be seen, where Nelson’s ships kept the French fleet in check for a long time.
The hotel is by PORTO RAFAEL. The establishment is preceded by the appearance of the small
church of Santa Rita to the left, where a path leads down through trees and bushes to a small piazza over the beach.
The semi-circle constructions reflect the character of their creator, a Spaniard who was the first to settle the place.
A granite ridge runs along the promontory, ending Punta Sardegna, where a granite mass overhangs the sea opposite the island of Spargi. On the summit a small viewpoint tower gives a full view of the northeastern extremity of Sardinia.
